1968 had some banger films. You had such films of going into space, having two people who are polar opposites move in together, one of the greatest car chases ever, a demon baby and let’s not forget a planet filled with apes. 1968 was a fun year to watch film and you will definitely enjoy some of the films that I recommend.
2001: A Space Odyssey

Stanley Kubrick scientific film is one of the best around from the music and having a computer saying, “Hello David” to the monkeys and the large ass baby at the end. This film is great and might need a few times to watch but with each view, you will love it more and more. Once again, that music with the monkeys is amazing and ICONIC!
The Odd Couple

One of the best comedies from back in the day. Starring the great Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau, they play two divorced men. Lemon plays neat-freak Felix Ungar while Matthau play gambling slob Oscar Madison. Lemon and Matthau are hilarious and brilliant in their roles. Watching to opposite of roommates trying to make it work is hilarious and makes you really not want to have a roommate.
Bullitt

The storyline might be good but Bullitt has one of the GREATEST car chasing scenes ever in film history. You want to see a master level car chase scene then you watch this film. The film stars Steve McQueen as a cop that is looking for the person who killed his eye witness in witness protection. The build up to the chase scene is amazing and everyone should watch.
Oliver!

Oliver Twist has been around for a long time. The Charles Dickens story has been made into many movies or TV shows. This version won the Best Picture award. I’m not really big into musicals but this one is pretty good with that classic banger, “I’ll Do Anything.” One of best films of the years and you can recite the classic line, “Please sir, I want some more.”
Planet of the Apes

“Take your stinking paws off me, you damned dirty ape!” A classic film starring Charlton Heston in this dystopian future film. When an astronaut crew crash-lands on a strange planet, the planet seems to be desolate until they learn that the apes are the dominant species who have evolved into human-like, highly intelligent beings. Things get real when Heston’s character battles back against the ape society. This has one of the biggest twists in film history.
Rosemary’s Baby

Let me see that baby!! Rosemary’s Baby is that creepy psychological horror film made by Roman Polanski. The tale of a woman who gets pregnant by the Devil and delivers the anti-Christ. This film is at the top of the horror game with crazy scenes, a dude in all pink and the ending that will probably make you extremely uncomfortable. I see why I never want kids.
Once Upon a Time in the West

The beginning of Once Upon a Time in the West is amazing. When “Harmonica” steps off the train and has a face-off with the three men, it is fun and intense. Have to give it up to Sergio Leone who made this film after the ICONIC the Good, the Bad and the Ugly. This film is one of the greatest Western films ever made.
Night of the Living Dead

George A. Romero masterpiece film changed the game and genre for zombie films. The film is known for transforming the horror genre and launching the word zombie. If you love the Walking Dead, then this is the Godfather to that series. There is no Walking Dead without Night of the Living Dead. A story about a group of survivors trying to survive against zombie, Romero became an icon with his film.
Romeo and Juliet

This is one of the best versions of the classic Shakespeare play. I remember watching this version in high school. The movie works because it has people close to high schoolers age. There is also a quick nude scene that was very unexpected. Hey, if you want to watch the movie rather than reading the play, this is the film for you.
Funny Girl

A film that is somewhat based on the life and career of Fanny Brice and her toxic relationship with Nicky Arnstein. Barbara Streisand was amazing in the film and won the Best Actress award. The film was also the highest-grossing film of 1968. Major props on that accomplishment. I have to admit that this is one of the best musicals I have seen and has a lot of great moments.
