Welcome to the 90s!!! A decade that was great for film, cartoons and life in general. Oh, how do I miss the 90s. Times were easy and simple back then. Now, I am going to say that the 90s didn’t start off greatly with films but it soon picked up and showed that movie making was just getting started with even bigger imagination.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
One of my all-time favorite movies. How can you not love the turtles and pizza power? Whether you are a Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, and/or Raphael, there is a turtle for every person in the world. The film has some great fight scenes and a killer album. Cowabunga!!!
Goodfellas
“As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster.” This film is pure entertainment and one of if not the best gangster film of all time. This film has it all from a great story, amazing characters, iconic dialogue, violence and the best storytelling in film. “Never rat on your friends, and always keep your mouth shut.” R.I.P to Ray Liotta
Home Alone
This film right here will have anyone cracking up with laughter. When Macaulay Culkin was a young pup, he was left behind by his family and had to defend his house from two nitwit robbers. Culkin is at his best and if you need a film during the Christmas season, this is where it’s at.
Dick Tracy
If you need one of those classic gangster comic book films, this film has it all. First off, the film has more stars than in the sky. Al Pacino is great as Big Boy and Warren Beatty is fantastic as the title character. It was all about the communicator watch back in the day. This film deserves to be in the top 10.
The Witches
This film still scares me to this day. I don’t care what anyone say, I am not trying to run into some purple eyed woman who offer chocolate. NOPE! This film is creepy, entertaining and a great Halloween movie. Also, big up to Anjelica Huston for making me have nightmares for years to come
Total Recall
A top 5 Arnold Schwarzenegger’s movie where Arnold actually does some good acting along with being a really entertaining movie. The film is really good with action, suspense and some twist and turns. Also, the visual effects and storyline are really good in this film. Who would’ve thought that Arnold being a spy while his memories are messed up would be a decent movie?
Darkman
This is my sleeper film right here. Darkman stars Liam Neeson as scientist who is brutally attacked, disfigured, and left for dead by ruthless mobster. He survives the attack and seeks a treatment to cure him of his burn injuries. He fails and in turn develops super-human abilities which leaves his mind a chaotic mess with the only goal being to get revenge. I’m telling you not that this movie is violent but fun to watch. Trust me on it.
Misery
The movie where Kathy Bates goes batshit crazy. Misery is one of those films that will leave your ankles hurting. Made after a Stephen King novel, Kathy Bates excels in this film as Annie Wilkes. When her favorite author lands in her care, Annie shows how obsessed of a fan she can truly be. It’s not in a good way.
Edward Scissorhands
If you know anything about Tim Burton, his films will be creepy but fun to watch. Starring Johnny Depp, we see an artificial humanoid named Edward, an unfinished creation who has scissor blades instead of hands. Yep, as the title states, scissors for hands. Only Tim Burton can think of things like this. Yet, the film is fun to watch.
Tremors
If you thought earthquakes or quicksand was rough, how about big ass worm creatures that eat you from underground. A film that started more sequels than anyone can count, the original is still a great watch. Starring Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward, the two try to skip a small ass town until it is terrorized by man-eating words who attack on vibration.
