2007 will always have a special place in my heart. It was the year I graduated from college. When it came to movies, it had some high-quality films. Looking at the list, it seemed to be the year where many films had trilogies come to an end. There were some funny movies that came along and some sad ones. Here are MY 10-best films that everyone should watch from 2007.

Transformers

Via: Paramount Pictures

Transformers!!!! More than meets the eye! I loved Transformers as a kid and even have the animated movie. When Transformers came out, I was excited. When Michael Bay directed the film, you knew they were going to be explosions. Megan Fox and Shia LaBeouf came on hard. The best scene for me was watching Starscream transform in and out of his plane mode. The introduction of Bumblebee was great as a new and iconic Transformer.

I Am Legend

Via: Warner Bros

This is the third adaptation of Matheson’s novel following 1964’s The Last Man on Earth and 1971’s The Omega Man. Will Smith plays the lead as Robert Neville, the last person in New York City after a virus that was originally created to cure cancer had wiped out all of mankind and transformed them into nocturnal mutants. Smith is great as he performs mostly with a dog. The dog scene will bring tears with your eyes.

300

Via: Warner Bros

“Spartans!!! Prepare for GLORY!” How can I not put this movie on the list. It was a great film that had every male in the world wanting to be a Spartan warrior. Kratos would definitely approve. The action scenes are beyond great. You see all of Xerxes’ forces come down upon the mighty Spartans. The look of the film is different and has its own style. The film has so many great quotes that you can say one per day for a week. “Give them nothing but take from them everything.”

Hot Fuzz

Via: Rogue Pictures

Hot Fuzz is one of the funniest films in the game and a treasure. Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are two police officers investigating a series of mysterious and gruesome deaths in a West Country village. Pegg is hilarious as the stone face, by the book police officer who his transferred into a place with no crime but has some issues. Frost is equally hilarious as the one who watches action flicks and wants to be in one.

No Country for Old Men

Via: Miramax Films

The winner of the Best Picture at the Oscars, No Country for Old Men is a phenomenal and intense movie. The story is great with a ruthless killer trying to track down money that was stollen from him. Javier Bardem as Anton Chigurh was amazing, terrifying and straight up EVIL. It was one of the most terrifying performances and transcends the movie. Better check to make sure you have that lucky quarter.

Disturbia

Via: Paramount Pictures

Shia LaBeouf had a monster 2007. A film that was inspired by Alfred Hitchcock’s Rear Window, it follows a teenager who is placed on house arrest for assaulting his school teacher and begins to spy on his neighbors, believing one of them is a possible serial killer. The film is thrilling as you wonder if the neighbor is a killer and all the things LaBeouf’s character sees.

The Bourne Ultimatum

Via: Universal Pictures

The third film in the Bourne series. The film is excellent as Jason Bourne finally remembers who he is and regains his memories. Matt Damon was excellent as Jason Bourne. Jason goes on intense car chases, fights and rooftops and finally makes it to the CIA building. Jesus Christ, That’s Jason Bourne.

There Will Be Blood

Via: Paramount Vantage

Daniel Day-Lewis is by far one of the greatest actors of his generation. In this film, dude was intense, greedy and ruthless as Daniel Plainview, a silver miner turned oilman who wants to claim all the oil in California. He will stop at nothing to be rich and screw anyone over. The ending is crazy as he completely loses his mind.

Superbad

Via: Sony Pictures Releasing

How funny is it that you get a fake ID and be called McLovin? Superbad is a hilarious film with three boys who want to party and get laid or try to lose their virginity. This film has some pretty well known names now but back then everyone looks so babyface. Mintz-Plasse is the funniest part and how he crushes over Nicola. Jonah Hill is equally hilarious.

Ratatouille

Via: Pixar/Walt Disney

I would never thought a film about a rat that loves to cook would be entertaining. Ratatouille is a cute kids movie that everyone should watch if they have dreams of cooking. The title refers to the French dish ratatouille, which is served at the end of the film.
