Cowboy Bebop is one of the greatest anime series ever made. The show has many standalone episodes but out of the 24 episodes, the main villain torments the main character. That character is Vicious. That’s a badass name for a villain. Vicious’ name speaks volumes of who this character is. He is a power-hungry, cold-blooded member of the Red Dragon Crime Syndicate. The story between Spike and Vicious is one where friends turn into enemies. Vicious is a man who is deadly and if he gets his way, will rule the world of Cowboy Bebop but will take joy in tormenting Spike before he does.
When you are called/named Vicious, you should at least look the part. Vicious is a tall, thin man with shoulder gray hair. Dude always wears a black suit with a large ass katana as his primary weapon. Dude is deadly with that katana. It is hard to believe that Vicious is around twenty-seven years old, but he looks like he is in his mid-to-late thirties. The reason for his look is those heavy bags under his eyes. He looks as if he hasn’t slept in days. This is due to his heavy drug use, his time fighting on Titan and probably other stuff. You say cocaine is a hell of a drug, that Red Eye is a hell of a drug. Here is something crazy, the dude never smiles. Maybe in a flashback but he always has this gloomy ass look on his face. What makes Vicious so fearsome is that giant black bird that chills on his shoulder. We are not talking like a parrot on a pirate’s shoulder. I’m talking about a vulture and dude puts explosives in its stomach for distractions. I wouldn’t want to be a bird of Vicious.
With the name Vicious, homeboy lives up to his name and then some. He is straight up ruthless, cold-blooded and heartless. His is a killer among killers. He is merciless, cunning and will do anything to make his dreams come true. He is ambitious and will commit any crime to become the leader if the Red Dragons but also will do anything to make Julia and Spike’s happiness a straight up nightmare. The word loyalty is not in Vicious vocabulary. He will backstab anyone to get ahead. Vicious is a snake and scorpion rolled into one. Vicious will have anyone do his dirty work. Now that I think about it, he is a hypocrite in terms of he calls out his superiors for losing their way and claws but wants others to do the work for him. Vicious also has qualities that you would think he wouldn’t have with his gloomy personality. He is actually quite sophisticated and extremely calculating. He did kill his mentor and blow up his ship with ease. When he does his coup, he convinces the syndicate to follow him.
Vicious is an anime villain that is scary and someone you wouldn’t want to meet. Dude rolls around with a katana and a giant bird on his shoulder. He also has a gloomy personality and straight up looks like he is 40 rather than 27. Vicious is a villain that will do anything to get what he wants and has no problem killing, blowing up and making everyone around him miserable. Hey, in Cowboy Bebop, he does have all the best scenes and brings out the best in Spike. Without him, we wouldn’t have gotten the iconic, “Bang.”
