Back when I was a young whippersnapper, I remember when Rurouni Kenshin came on the best time block ever, Toonami. I watched Rurouni Kenshin and there were some villains that were interesting but when Shishiop showed up, I was honestly terrified. Shishio is one of the deadliest, craziest and strongest warriors to roll up in anime. He is a master swordsman who could probably roll with some of the greatest anime swordsmen. Watch you back Zoro. Let’s give it up for the one and only Shishio Makoto.
Yoooooo! I want to say that Shishio has one of the most iconic appearances in anime history. Dude was pretty good looking when he had long, black hair, fair complexion and those red eyes. Women probably draped over him but after he was burned to almost a crisp, Shishio’s appearance changes drastically and more terrifying. His skin is brown now from the burns, but his entire body is covered in bandages. Dude looks like he wants to be the Mummy during Halloween. Shishio also wears a half purple robe over one side of his body and rocks a katana while smoking on a long as pipe.
Shishio’s personality is driven on the ideology of the strong survive and the weak either become under your foot or slaves. Shishio gives two shits about people. He is ruthless and displays no mercy, pity or care for his enemies. He believes that even showing a little bit of mercy is a crack that someone could exploit. Shishio believes that showing any of those is a weakness and goes against his beliefs. What about Shishio’s personality makes him such an amazing villain besides his appearance? Dude is ruthless, power-hungry, sadistic, evil, maniacal, and gets off with killing his enemies. Homeboy wants to rule Japan which is quite ambitious. Mixed in with his views, he stated, “The weak shall become food for the strong! So die and let me feast!” Oh, and how can I forget his best quality! Shishio is extremely narcissistic. Can’t forget about that quality.
Even though he is cruel, Shishio does have a mini heart as he loves Yumi. Yumi LOVES Shishio. That’s his ride-or-die girl. Shishio formed such a loving bod with Yumi, she makes sure to protect him as he fights as his only weakness is that if fights for two long, his body with combust. You think since she made it through, some of his allies would find a way into his inner circle. HAHAHA, yea, as with all villains, Shishio was no different. He manipulates them and sees them as pawns. Yumi is where it’s at. After they both die, they meet in hell. You think hell would subside Shishio’s craving for power. Nope, dude looks around hell and plans to take it over.
Shishio Makoto is a badass swordsman who wants to rule Japan and the world. He has no care for people that are weak and believes the strongest will survive. He has a fearsome appearance with his whole body being covered in bandages. His skills with the blade are only matched by one person. He is so good that he can cut people in half without almost unsheathing his sword. Shishio Makoto is a villain you do not want to meet back in the day in Japan.
