Welcome back to one of the best series ever. This time we are back with the horror genre. You can never go wrong with awful horror films. There are so many out there. When it is Halloween time, you can bet your ass that they will come out of every crack and corner of the world, hoping that people will watch them. Here we go for the 16th entry!
Shark Night (2011)
Nothing like a good ole shark night to get the blood and imagination going. Shark Night is a weak and boring movie. A couple of friends stay at some place on a lake when they run into some creepy and shady people. Then one of the friends is attacked by a shark on the lake which makes no sense. Playing into the theme of shark week, the men are placing sharks in the lake to be on shark week and make money. Yup, social media at its finest back in the day and I can see people doing this now. The best scene was when they dropped the kid in the lake and that shark immediately looked and started stalking.
Jeepers Creepers 3 (2017)
The first Jeepers Creepers was great as there was a new evil monster on the block. Jeepers Creepers 2 was straight up trash. I don’t know how you could get worse than Jeepers Creepers 2 but damnit, Jeepers Creepers 3 managed to do it. I guess that is a feat in itself. This is like a sequel but also prequel because the film happens between Jeepers Creepers and Jeepers Creepers 2. There was absolutely nothing exciting about this film. There were no scares and the storyline was a utter waste of time and the paper it was written on.
Exorcist: The Beginning (2004)
I admit that I was a little scared when this film first came out. I remember watching the first Exorcist and thinking this would be good. I remember being frightened. Years later, I found this film to be blah when I try to watch Halloween movies. It is far from the level of other films. In this one, we follow a young Father Merrin who throws the middle finger to his faith after his haunting experiences in WWII. Working in Kenya as an archeologist, he rolls up on the demon that will haunt him years later. The premise is good, but the execution was trash and the story was pathetic. Where were the frights rather than that creepy cave scene that was blah.
Fantasy Island (2020)
The Plane, Boss! Sometimes there are times when remakes or reboots are not needed. This is the case in Blumhouse Fantasy Island. The 1977 tv show was good with homeboy calling the plane and meeting Mr. Roarke aka the Devil. Like the tv show, people roll up on the island and discover their dream fantasies only for them to become a nightmare. The nightmare was watching this film and hoping Mr. Roarke reconsidered ever making it. I realize that Blumhouse wanted some screams, but it didn’t work. Go after those fantasies and get rich.
Brahms: The Boy II (2020)
You have to love horror movies because no matter how bad the first film was, you can almost guarantee that a sequel will be made. Case in point, The Boy franchise. The sequel follows a young boy who moves into this creepy ass mansion with his parents and finds a doll that soon turns into a nightmare. You want to talk about a boring, horror film, this film is all of that. You will have more frights of little kids popping out and saying boo than this film. Katie Holmes, what was that performance? Don’t watch this film or you might cry from the dull performances and story.
