I wanted to take a different approach for the Huh series for a quick posting. I have been watching a lot of wrestling lately. It made me remember growing up and watching the Monday Night Wars going on. Then I got the idea to see what awful movies that have wrestlers in them. Oh boy did I find some movies that are bad starring wrestlers. These are the first ones I could find and it wont be the last. These movies are so bad, you would rather be RKO, Choke slammed, Sweet Chin Music or Rock Bottomed.
No Holds Barred (1989)
At the height of Hulk Hogan’s popularity, he decided to make the jump and start making movies. This was Hogan’s first starring film and it should’ve been his last. Hogan pretty much plays himself in this film against a force named Zeus played by the late Tiny Lister. The film is bad and really not entertaining. The dookie scene is what this film is remember for the most. A shit film with a shit scene.
Ready to Rumble (2000)
Here is the movie that pretty much helped end WCW. A film starring David Arquette, Oliver Platt and a shit ton of WCW wrestlers. The film is pretty bad with two dumbass hardcore wresting fans who are obsessed with WCW’s World Champion. If you are a wresting fan, you might like this film but we all know what happened in real life. David “WTF” Arquette actually won the WCW heavyweight title. Just writing that is crazy and I remember watching it when it happened.
Suburban Commando (1991)
I remember when this film first came out. I thought it was cool because I was big into wrestling and the Hulk Hogan era. I recently rewatched this film and damn it was awful. Holy shit, it was terrible. Hogan stars as an extraterrestrial warrior who messes up his mission. His superiors tell him to go on vacation and end up on Earth. I can’t even describe how bad this film was. I would take a chokeslam rather than watching this film again and the film has a pretty good cast. What the freak happened?
The Marine (2006)
My dad is a Marine and I can say that this film right here is not Marine like level. This film might be so bad it’s bad. Starring John Cena in his first film, you could tell that he needed some more practice. Starring as John Triton, a Marine who is discharged and can’t land a job. Things get crazy when his wife is kidnapped. There is so much wrong with this film from the acting, story and being hilarious because it tries to be serious but not.
Mr. Nanny (1993)
Is this another bad Hulk Hogan film? I think it is. I would say that I shouldn’t be surprised but damn. In a film where he plays a former wrestler that has lost it and hung up the boots, he becomes a nanny because of his financial difficulties. He must watch two bad ass kids. This film is bad and not even funny. It is another film that tries to use the formula of kids and a brooding and menacing person. Once again, I would rather take a spear than watch this film again.
