Here is a special entry for movie quotes. This time around I’ll present to you movie quotes from western films. Oh, this should be exciting because these are some lines you can drop when you are about to have an epic shootout with your friends at an arcade. I’m pretty sure the final quote of this posting is the best. You can go around and say that one all the time for someone that is beefing with your friends.
“You See, In This World, There’s Two Kinds of People, My Friend; Those with Loaded Guns and Those Who Dig. You Dig.” – Blondie, The Good, The Bad and The Ugly (1966)
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly is one of if not the best western films of all time. Set during the Civil War, it features three men on the verge of an epic showdown to find buried treasure. The showdown is amazing with the iconic music playing in the background. When Blondie and Tuco find the treasure, Blondie drops this iconic line. It shows the contrast in life in the west. Some men rule with guns while others serve them to do their bidding.
“Fill your hand, you son of a bitch!” – Rooster Cogburn, True Grit (1969)
True Grit is the film where The Duke, John Wayne, won the Academy Award for Best Actor. In the film he plays hard drinking U.S. Marshal Rooster Cogburn who is hired by Mattie to catch and bring to justice an outlaw who killed her dad. Towards the climax of the film, Rooster is facing off against 4 criminals. When one of the men calls him fat, the look of being offended is priceless. He drops this epic quote before riding towards them with guns blazing.
“I’m Your Huckleberry.” – Doc Holliday, Tombstone (1993)
Tombstone is a great and entertaining movie about Wyatt Earp and his crew during the O.K. Corral gunfight. One of the members of Earp’s crew was Doc Holiday. There have been many actors who played the famous dentist and gunslinger but the one who made the role iconic was Val Kilmer. Kilmer was excellent in this film and stole the show. You watched the movie because of him. What made him so good was he portrayed a man that was sick but also a man who was confident and maybe the fastest gun in the west. Kilmer as Doc Holliday dropped this line a few times toward Johnny Ringo. Never one to shy away from a challenge, he dropped this line every time he saw Ringo telling the man, he is always willing for a gunfight. He always delivered the line in a cool, subtle way. Great freakin line!
