The King is here! The King has arrived and is ready to rule overall. One of the most fearsome and strongest anime villains to walk the world is Meruem aka the King. Meruem is the main villain of the anime series Hunter x Hunter. He is the most powerful and might be the perfect offspring of the Chimera Ant Queen. Meruem is the King of the Chimera Ants and wants to bring all humans and species under his rule. You can bow down and become food or join his growing army.
Meruem is a fearsome looking character. He is green while his arms have purple coloring. He is a humanoid built ant that is extremely muscular and toned even though he is shorter than his servants. Dude had been doing push-ups and sit-ups in the womb of his mom before her burst out. As an ant, he has two long antennae-like things on his ears. He also looks like he has a bike helmet over his head that is considered a shell. Meruem also has a tail that is extremely deadly and accurate. It is like a scorpion’s tail with a venomous needle point. His tail has alternating light and dark green rings.
As the King, Meruem has two extreme changes in his personality. When he first came into the world, he was a cruel, violent, menacing, intimidating, ruthless, and aggressive leader. He gave zero fucks about anyone or any servant. He has a high view of himself as being the perfect being as the Chimera Ant Queen preached and worked for this goal. This caused him to have a pompous view of himself. He speaks in a formal and elegant tone. He considers himself superior and feels no concerns. If you are disrespectful, he has no issue with punishing you or straight up killing you and being on his way. It all depends on where you rank in his eyes. If you are strong and powerful, he will give you a small inch.
As the anime story progresses, Meruem’s personality changes. The first instance is his time with Komugi, a bling human girl who is the World Gungi Champion and constantly whipped his ass at the game. As Meruem spent more time with Komugi, he grows to care for her and even loves her. This causes Meruem to question if what he is doing is right and maybe the ants and humans can live in peace. His time with Komugi also has him start developing a code of honor and matures him greatly. When he fights against Netero, he states that he doesn’t wish to fight the leader and rather talk. It seems like the bloodthirsty creature was gone. In his fight with Netero and coming close to death, this caused fear to develop in the King. This made him start to cherish life and look at his servants as more than pawns.
What makes Meruem so fearsome is his power. This dude is a beast and is by far the most powerful character in the Hunter x Hunter series. Dude is so powerful that he was able to withstand a major ass whipping from Isaac Netero’s strongest attack. His strength is mind blowing too many as his tail could easily decapitate anyone. His speed and reflexes are so fast that he can rip off limbs in the blink of an eye. What is scary is that Meruem is considered an infant and the more he absorbs and fights, the more powerful he becomes. If it was for a certain bomb, he would’ve ruled overall.
Bow down to the king! Meruem is one of the most iconic and powerful anime villains of all time. Meruem is a fearsome creature and villain who at the start of his arc cared about no one. As the series progressed, he became a more caring creature. Dude is still a beast, and you can be a villain while caring. This is one ant that you should never try to step on. All hail Meruem.
