Cate Blanchett is in a class of her own. The amazing, charming and beautiful actress is regarded as one of the finest actresses of her generation. She is known for her versatile work from independent films, blockbusters, and the stage. As a two-time Academy Award winner, Blanchett is a elf queen, Norse goddess, a legendary actress and so much more.

Jeanette “Jasmine” Francis- Blue Jasmine (2013)

Via: Sony Pictures Classics

Blanchett was FANTASTIC as Jasmine. I absolutely hated her for her uptight, stuck-up ways. Blanchett played it so well where you saw Jasmine’s downfall physically, mentally, and emotionally. When Jasmine started talking to herself, Blanchett sold it so well that I wanted to see more. At the end, Blanchett made Jasmine look like a crazy fool with her hair all out of whack and her make-up in complete ruin. Straight up masterful!

Katharine Hepburn- The Aviator (2003)

Via: Miramax Films

Blanchett stole the show as Katharine Hepburn. I swear it was like watching Hepburn all over again. You can tell that Blanchett put some major time in studying Hepburn’s mannerism and speech pattern. She was great in this role and definitely showed what a great actress she is.

Hela- Thor: Ragnarok (2017)

Via: Walt Disney/Marvel

Who better to play the goddess of death that Blanchett. Blanchett is straight up amazing and one of my favorite Marvel villains. She is straight-up powerful, ruthless and sexy. Her outfit is top-notch. You see that headgear. Straight up fearful. Blanchett brought such elegance and evil to this role. I will serve you any day of the week.

Galadriel- The Lord of the Rings (2001–2003)

Via: New Line Cinema

As the beautiful elf royalty, Blanchett is a calming presence in the film series. Blanchett voiced the narration of the first film and told the story of the One Ring. Even though she appears sporadically, that one scene where she turns a different color was quite scary. Once again, I will be happy to serve you, my queen.

Daisy Fuller- The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008)

Via: Paramount Pictures

How do you love a person who ages backwards? Blanchett plays Daisy, Benjamin’s love interest. As Daisy gets older, Benjamin gets younger. Blanchett is the beauty as Daisy is a dancer who career stops after getting hit by a car. After dancing, Blanchett shows Daisy settling down and starting a family.

Irina Spalko- Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008)

Via: Paramount Pictures

Maybe not her strongest role but still formidable. Blanchett plays Colonel Doctor Irina Spalko, a Soviet agent born in a small village in the eastern regions of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic. She is a skilled in fencing and hand-to-hand combat. She has a deep ambition for knowledge. I will say that this is Blanchett’s pre-Hela role.

Queen Elizabeth I- Elizabeth (1998)

Via: PolyGram Filmed Entertainment

Starring as the famous Queen. Blanchett plays the early early years of Elizabeth’s reign from the time she takes the throne after the death of her half-sister while going against enemies who want her off the throne. Blanchett gives an outstanding performance of the Queen and should be applauded for it. Blanchett has a thing for having for people knelling before her.

Kaa (voice)- Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle (2018)

Via: Netflix

In one of the many versions of the Jungle Book. Blanchett voices the one and only Kaa. Her slithery voice is seductive as she tells Mowgli that he can bring harmony to the jungle. Even though Kaa wasn’t in the movie for more than like three minutes, she served as one of the animals with wisdom and narrators.

Marion Loxley- Robin Hood (2010)

Via: Universal Pictures

In Ridley Scott’s version of Robin Hood, it plays to a more serious tone. The movie is meh, but Blanchett is such a great actress that she holds her own in this film. She is a delight to watch. Blanchett is straight up royalty no matter what film she is in.

Carol Aird- Carol (2015)

Via: The Weinstein Company

The film revolves around Carol and a forbidden affair in the 1950s between her and aspiring female photographer, Therese. Blanchett OWNS this movie and showcases her talents and range as an actress. As great as Blanchett was in her other award winning roles, she was equally or even better in this role.
