I want to be the first that says that there is nothing cooler and awesome that a female villain who can kick some major ass. A true badass where no male counterpart can stand next to her. A woman leader who brings fear to men and control legions at the edge of her sword. That is straight up SEXY! O-Ren Ishii, played by the amazing Lucy Liu from Kill Bill is one villain you don’t want to run into.
O-Ren Ishii was a member of the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad known by her code-name Cottonmouth and served under the one and only Bill. O-Ren had a difficult life. She is a half Chinese-Japanese American who was the daughter of a military man and a housewife. After her parents were brutally murdered, O-Ren killed the men who killed her parents and, in the process, at the age of twenty managed to become one of the top female assassins in the world. After joining Bill’s group for five years, O-Ren bounced and later became the leader of a crime organization in Tokyo called the Yakuza, where she led the Crazy 88 and Gogo Yubari.
After watching her parents murdered, O-Ren personality changed from a happy carefree child to one being closed off and emotionless. With vengeance on her mind, she gave up her childhood and innocence to be a ruthless assassin. O-Ren is very proud of her heritage and will not hesitate to kill anyone who is disrespectful and insults her heritage (i.e., Boss Tanaka). Yet, O-Ren displays a calm demeanor about herself where she rarely upset and does care about her people (i.e., Sofie Fatale when her arm got cut off).
O-Ren Ishii is a badass female villain who you should be afraid of. Until the very end, she held her own and took over all the mafia in Japan. Better not be disrespectful or you could find yourself at the edge of her sword.
