One of the villains to get a major makeover in the Christopher Nolan films was Bane. Nolan threw out all the BS of adding venom and cartoony look to producing one of the most fearsome and realistic characters in Batman history. Tom Hardy brought a type of evil and fear to the character that is intimidating and physically opposing. He made sure to show why he is the villain that broke Batman’s back.

What makes this villain imposing is his appearance. Bane was an extremely tall, bodybuilding built bald man. As he states, “No one cared until I put on the mask.” He wore a breathing mask that covered his jaw, mouth, nose, and the top and back of his head. His appearance is more fearsome as he usually wore a brown shearling coat with a military vest underneath with black combat pants and boots.

Bane has a ruthless and cold personality as he is fully immersed in the organization’s beliefs and ideals. Homeboy has no hesitation in slaughtering millions of people. Bane’s time in prison really messed with him as he wanted Gotham to feel every single second he felt in prison. With his men, he commands absolute loyalty out of them and will not take a second to kill one of them to make an example. Yet, Bane as moments where he behaves as a person with honor and a gentleman. When the little boy sings the national anthem, he says that the boy has a lovely, lovely voice before blowing the field and setting off bombs around the city. What really sets Bane apart is that he gives speech as a revolutionary leader. His speech excite and is extremely sophisticated. One of his best skill sets is that he is an extremely powerful public speaker. Also, Bane has a way to always be in control. No matter how much money someone has, he talks to people in a calm way that shows he is always in charge.
