Today’s excellent entry comes from the thriller, The Exorcist.
From the clip provided by Warner Bros. and Movieclips comes what I must say is a slap that will make you say, “Oh Damn! I felt that one!”
If you never have seen The Exorcist, you are in luck because this slap is a thing of BEAUTY! Homegirl, Regan, is in the beginning to middle stages of her possession. Not quite there but close. Her very concerning mother calls her doctors to help. When they arrive, she is bouncing around the bed like a jumping jelly bean. Her doctor comes in to help, and that is when it happens. An “Oh Lawd Have Mercy” Slap! Regan hops up and unleashes a power of Christ backhand to the doctor.
You don’t actually see contact, but you sure did feel it. It was a slap so hard, the doctor didn’t just stumble backward but falls straight down. When you get slapped so hard that your eyes roll back in your head and you just want to fall asleep from the pain, then you should sit down. Where this slap falls, a little flat is with the technique. You know it’s a backhand, but you can’t really see anything. I need to see the extension of the arm and wrist, making full contact with the face. One must still give props to a little girl unleashing the “Gates of Hell Slaps” to an adult.
