From the clip provided by Columbia Pictures and Movieclips comes what I must say is a slap that will make you say, “Oh No He Didnt!” If you never have seen On the Waterfront, first you are missing out on and great movie and second, you are in luck because this slap is pure ART! Mob-connected union boss Johnny Friendly is talking to his men about the waterfront and payments. One of his men comes up short with his end of the money. Johnny delivers the legendary “You Don’t Work Here No More” Slap!
Johnny Friendly played by the great Lee J. Cobb, delivers one of the best slaps in movie history! First, the way Friendly walks over is pretty intense. He looks like that daddy that is about to deliver some punishment with his tie hanging off his neck. With lightning fast hands, he slaps the man’s cigar out his mouth. That cigar did nothing to you, man!
Now the best part is when Friendly empties the man’s pockets, lifts the man up and delivers three of the best slaps. His wrist was fluent and so quick. Now I will say that he should’ve started with the backhand first but when you deliver three slaps in a row, in front of EVERYONE and then get fired. I can’t hate on you.
