Today’s entry comes from the 2021 musical, West Side Story
From the clip provided by 20th Century Fox comes a slap that will make you laugh. We call this the “Juvenile Delinquent” Slap.
West Side Story is a classic musical that has been remade once again by the great Steven Spielberg. The Romeo and Juliet type storyline tells the story of two rival gangs, the Jets and the Sharks, who fight for control of their area. As the two gangs battle, behind the scenes, two teenagers from different ethnic groups start falling in love with each other.
The slap at hand is a funny and playful slap during the song, “Gee, Officer Krupke.” As some of the boys are picked up, they begin ranting about the officer who always has their number. The slaps are quick and one right after each other. You can tell they sting just a tad bit.
