Welcome back to the series that just keeps giving. Who doesn’t love some wonderful, amazing, spectacular movies that are so bad they make you confused. This time around I have some good ones. How about some comedy movies that will not make you laugh. I’m talking about comedy movies that are so bad they make you angry and frown rather than smile. Get ready because this one is going to be good.
Mom and Dad Save the World (1992)
Do you remember the movie Mom and Dad Save the World? If not, then you are not missing out. I used to watch this movie a lot with my brother growing up when it came on religiously on TV. I rewatched it and can see the only great and beautiful aspect of this film was Kathy Ireland. The film is about a married couple who are kidnapped by a cruel ruler on a planet of idiots. The scene of touching the grenade will live on in dumbness history.
Mr. Magoo (1997)
I used to watch the cartoon version of Mr. Magoo when it appeared on Cartoon Network. My dad was the one who told me about the character. A wealth, old man who can’t see to save his life and straight up stubborn. When you have a famous cartoon, you need to make a movie. In 1997, the world wondered why it would make a movie on this character. Staring comedy legend, Leslie Nielsen, what could go wrong? Pretty much everything! This movie was terrible and even Leslie Nielsen couldn’t save it and that is saying something. The jokes and gags were so bad that a laugh wouldn’t laugh at this film.
Jury Duty (1995)
During the Pauly Shore era, he was dropping movies almost every year. Jury Duty was one of those films that was okay back in the day, but it is so bad when you are mature. Shore plays Tommy Collins who is a male stripper living with his mom. He decides to get called for jury duty to have food, a place to stay and money. He ends up on a murder trial and he does everything he can to delay the trial for free stuff. The film is idiotic and it came out around the time of the OJ Simpson case. Not a good look.
Corky Romano (2001)
It seems like SNL talent have a hard time translating their comedic success into box office success. There were a few hits but mainly misses. Corky Romano is one of the films that missed drastically. This movie was BAD. It was mind-numbing bad as it starred Chris Kattan in a role as a veterinarian who infiltrates the FBI on behalf of his mob family to steal evidence. Yup, you read that right. The jokes are extremely stale and fall so flat. After five minutes you will want to turn it off and move on to another film.
The Haunted Mansion (2003)
One of the best rides at Disney must be The Haunted Mansion. An OG ride where you have the pleasure of “taking” a ghost home. In the year 2003, we were greeted with a live action film coming off the tails of the popular Pirates of the Caribbean film. Well, Let’s say that this film was a complete bomb. Starring Eddie Murphy during his string of bad movies, this one failed. It wasn’t funny or entertaining. The ghost in this film were probably saying, “put me back in the grave, please.” The only thing good about this film is Nelly and his song Iz U.
