I love writing about awful films. Here we go again with another round of awful films. This time we have a couple of remakes that just dropped the ball and are straight up laughable. Sometimes remakes are just awful and never should see the light of day ever again. Give it up for awful remakes.
Mac and Me (1988)
If you want to see a bad rip off of E.T., then look no further then Mac and Me. E.T. should come down and slap everyone who help make this awful film. It has to be one of if not the worse movies ever made. It might even give Trolls 2 a run for its money. The film has so much McDonald’s and Coca-Cola product placement that you might as well have stock in those companies. Paul Rudd uses this film every time he goes onto Conan when he is about to show a clip from his new movie. Hey, gotta make something noteworthy from this film.
Red Sonja (1985)
Brigitte Nielsen, Arnold Schwarzenegger, sword and sorcery, what more could you want in a film. Well, the film that was made was not it at all. Red Sonja was part of the Barbarian genre and completely flopped. There was a long ass fight between Sonja and Arnold’s character. Then a weird statue fighting scene with rising water. Then a kid who thought he was special but also weak. Please skip.
The Demolitionist (1995)
If you are looking for a Robocop rip-off, then look no further than The Demolitionist. A film that revolves around a murdered female police officer, who is brought back to life to fight crime and corruption. Once again, it is a MAJOR Robocop rip-off and doesn’t even try to change the storyline.
Into the Blue (2005)
First off, this is a remake of another film called The Deep. Many people might not agree but it is almost exactly the same exact storyline. This movie should’ve stayed in the blue. Deep, deep, deep down in the blue ocean because it was laughable. Finding drugs in the ocean and then people come and say its theirs is a complete waste of Alba and Walker’s talents.
The Mummy (2017)
There has been many version of the Mummy. The 1999 version staring Brendan Fraser was pretty good and entertaining. The ones that followed were meh. No one asked for a Mummy remake and yet the world got one. Universal wanting to jump start their Dark Universe employed Tom Cruise and in the end, the film should’ve stayed deep in a tomb. Film did so bad that it lead to the discontinuation and cancellation of the Dark Universe.
