Here we go again with the best series. We are back again with awful horror films. This genre is the gift that keeps on giving. You have to love the horror genre for giving zero fucks and going with whatever story that comes to mind. We are back again with vampires, werewolves, traps, sharks, creepers and demons. Oh My! Get ready for some awful films.
Underworld: Evolution (2006)
Most people didn’t like the first Underworld but watching Kate Beckinsale stride around in tight leather is enough for me to enjoy the film. Plus, it was all about vampires and werewolves in a major war against each other. With the success of that film, you knew they would make a sequel. The sequel was meh with Selene and Michael going against Markus, the very first vampire and the past of the Corvinus bloodline. The story was blah and could’ve been better with the first werewolf being added more. Now I will say the visuals and action are great but that is it.
Saw IV (2007)
The first Saw was amazing, intense and thrilling. The second film was okay. We come to Saw IV, which is getting a little long for a franchise, but this one loses the main character in John Kramer. The film starts where the last film ended with the death of Jigsaw. Yet, he makes a tape and a new game. The franchise is starting to be less about the story with grasping straws and more about how sadistic you can kill someone in a trap. This series lost its way and there are more in the series that suck ass.
The Requin (2022)
I’m a big shark attack fan. When Shark Week comes on, I’m all about that. Now that doesn’t mean all shark attack films are created equal. Hell, after a while, they all seem the same with a shark coming around because someone is bleeding and starts attacking. Take this film for example. Going on vacation and then a tropical storm hits to take your stay out on the water where you are attacked. The story was blah and after a while, you will roll your eyes. Who plans a vacation during a tropical storm and who doesn’t stay at a nice hotel. Didn’t you read the yelp reviews?
Jeepers Creepers: Reborn (2022)
How can a reboot film suck so bad? How can a film that was supposed to instill excitement back into a franchise be so awful that it turns people away. Jeepers Creepers: Reborn managed to make everyone disown this film as the cannon. The story sucks ass with the creeper following a pair at a horror festival. The performances were beyond bad and some need to go back to acting class. The production value is awful. The scares were so weak that all you can do is chuckle because they are that bad. Don’t watch this film if you are even a mini fan of the series.
The Exorcist: Believer (2023)
I love the original and first Exorcist film. It was a work of art and fear. It is still ranked one of the scariest films of all time. The problem is trying to make a sequel that is on the same level. Here we go again with a somewhat reboot of the franchise that failed. This time, two girls straight up vanish in the woods and return 3 days later with no memory. Shit starts getting weird and creepy until one of the popes asks the original cast what to do. It seems like when a film series gets stuck, they try to recruit the past to make it better. This is one of the films where the original cast really didn’t need to be part of this series. Oh, and there are few frights and the story is blah. The power of Christ couldn’t help this film.
