Here we go again with terrible films. This time around I thought it would be fun to talk about awful Western films. These are some of the bottom of the barrel Western films. These films will either leave you confused or wanting to give up your gunfight and go home disappointed.
Wild Wild West (1999)
When the film first came out, I was all about it. I was a kid back then and it was during Big Willie Weekend. Will Smith had a bunch of hits and he seemed he couldn’t go wrong. Well, Wild Wild West went terribly wrong. The film is all over the place, the jokes fall short and the film made very little sense. The only good thing about this film was the theme song.
The Ridiculous 6 (2015)
There is no film that is more mind-numbing than this film right here. During Adam Sandler’s awful movie phase, this one is the worst of the worst. The film is a dumpster fire of a western film that tries to be comedic but fails dramatically. It felt like the film was no more than stall jokes trying to be a western film. I think I fell asleep a few times while watching this film.
The Villain (1979)
Have you ever seen the Terminator as a cowboy? Oh, do I have a film for you and it is terrible. The Villain has Kirk Douglas as Cactus Jack trying to rob a woman who just received a large sum of money from her pops. The woman is being escorted by the giant of a man who is Arnold Schwarzenegger and is known only as Handsome Stranger. It is a terrible spoof of a film but hey it gave a laugh or two while seeing Arnold as a cowboy. Hey, you have to start somewhere.
The Dark Tower (2017)
I started reading the first book of the Dark Tower saga. I thought it was really good and intense. I did watch the film before the movie and it was a complete dud. A film starring both Idris Elba as Roland Deschain, the gunslinger on a quest to protect the Dark Tower and Matthew McConaughey plays his nemesis, Walter Padick (The Man in Black). You would think it would be good and it was a pitiful attempt to make a note worthy franchise.
A Million Ways to Die in the West (2014)
If you go off the title, then one of those ways is watching this film. A film with an impressive cast, the film follows a cowardly frontiersman who gains courage from a female gunfighter. MacFarlane wasn’t funny at all and the run time for this film was brutal. Sorry to say that this was one of the least funniest films I have seen from MacFarlane.
