Oh, the beautiful, talented and amazing Charlize Theron. Theron is a South African-born American actress who has made many films and garnered many awards and acclaim. From The Devil’s Advocate to Monster to the Fast and Furious series, Theron has done it all and still continues to a sought-after actress. Get ready, she is about to be in the MCU. Oh, the excitement!!
Imperator Furiosa- Mad Max: Fury Road (2005)
In George Miller’s EPIC reboot or sequel, Theron is a complete badass as Furiosa. Furiosa is a strong-willed and moral leader who is a war captain under Immortan Joe. She turns against him to free “The Five Wives”, Joe’s female concubines. Theron made sure to show Furiosa as someone who will whip ass if she needed to. She took on Max and Immortan Joe. Love this role for Theron.
Aileen Wuornos- Monster (2003)
In the role that won her the Academy Award, Theron plays Aileen “Lee” Wuornos. Theron plays real life serial killer, Aileen Carol Wuornos. While working as a street prostitute in Florida, she killed and robbed seven of her male clients. Theron is phenomenal in this role as she truly embodies the character with changing her entire appearance. She took over Wuornos’ look and mannerism. She was intense and strange as Wuornos. What a chilling but great performance.
Queen Ravenna- Snow White and the Huntsman (2012)
“Magic mirror on the wall, who’s the fairest one of all?” Theron, you are beyond the fairest of them all. Theron is straight up BEAUTIFUL and yet evil in this film. Playing Queen Ravenna or the Evil Queen, who is a powerful sorceress and the Dark Army’s master. Theron made sure to show Ravenna as a person who is after revenge from being discarded. Theron brought elegance and grace with seduction and manipulation. I bow to you, my queen.
Lorraine Broughton- Atomic Blonde (2017)
In this action thriller where Theron plays Lorraine Broughton, a spy who has to find a list of double agents. Theron is AMAZING in this film. She is BEAUTIFUL but also someone who whips so much ass that it would make James Bond blush. Theron holds nothing back as she kicks, punches, shoots, stab and takes on all comers. I hope there is a sequel because I want to see more of Theron in this role.
Stella Bridger- The Italian Job (2003)
In the American remake of the 1969 British film, the story follows a unique crew of thieves who plan to steal gold from a former associate who double-crossed them. Theron plays Stella, John’s daughter and a professional safe cracker. Unlike her father who opens safes based on feel, Stella uses tools and technology to open safes. Theron is front and center of this film with Wahlberg by her side. Yet, she is actually relatively calm as Stella.
Æon Flux- Æon Flux (2005)
I used to watch this show when it came on MTV. Even though the film is not great. Actually, it’s pretty bad, Theron tries to make some use of it. You get to see her run around in a tight black outfit. That has to count for something, right?
Ashley Mercer- Reindeer Games (2000)
Here me out, Reindeer Games is a very, very meh film. It doesn’t have a great storyline and the characters are whatever. As Ashley, she is a loving girlfriend who is not what she seems and doble crosses everyone. I tell you, it is Theron’s innocent but seductive smile that gets everyone hooked on her.
Mary Ann Lomax- The Devil’s Advocate (1997)
This was the first role I ever saw Theron in. I was a baby face person back in 1997. Theron was beautiful who eventually goes mad when her husband moves to NYC and works for the Devil. As Mary Ann, Theron is innocent southern girl who is completely out of place in the big city of NYC. Slowly she sees images that haunt her. In a tearful plea, Theron shows that the evil forces were stronger.
Cipher- Fast and Furious Series (8, 9, 10)
The world needs more women who are masterful, evil and a joy to watch. That is what Theron brings to the Fast and Furious franchise. As Cipher, she is a cyberterrorist, criminal mastermind. What she wants, she gets. In this film, she makes Dom work for her by holding his baby mama and son hostage. That is some evil stuff but you gotta do what you gotta do. Theron is completely ruthless in this film as she presses buttons and lets people know she means business.
Megyn Kelly- Bombshell (2019)
I am not fond of Megyn Kelly or Fox News. I’ll leave it at that. Theron scored an Academy Award nomination for this role. The film is based upon the accounts of the women at Fox News who set out to expose CEO Roger Ailes for sexual harassment. I’m not going to spend too much time on this one.
