The BEAUTIFUL, GORGEOUS and TALENTED Eva Mendes is an actress who career began in the late 1990s. With her small appearance in Will Smith’s music video Miami, she was a pretty face. Yet, Mendes career took off with her performance in Training Day. This role led to others like 2 Fast 2 Furious and Hitch. Mendes also starred in comic book films like Ghost Rider and the Spirit. Mendes also has her comedic side with starring in The Other Guys. Mendes has taken a break from acting to care for her children but hopefully she will come back.
Agent Monica Fuentes- 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003)
Let’s say this is Mendes breakthrough film and the film I fell in love with her. It’s hard to believe that I think were up to the 10th sequel to the Fast and Furious franchise. It doesn’t seem the film series will slow down. In this film, Mendes plays Agent Monica Fuentes, a U.S. Customs federal agent who has been working undercover as an assistant for drug kingpin Carter Verone. Mendes is straight up and beautiful. Lord help me, that every time she was on screen, I wanted more of her.
Roxanne Simpson- Ghost Rider (2007)
Before Marvel was the juggernaut that it is today, it put out Ghost Rider. The one with Nicolas Cage as Johnny Blaze/Ghost Rider. Yep, that one! The one where he is a motorcycle stunt rider, who is tricked into making a deal with the Devil and becoming Ghost Rider to be his bounty hunter. Mendes plays Roxanne Simpson, Johnny’s childhood love interest who becomes a reporter. Mendes does her job but nothing can save this movie.
Sara Melas- Hitch (2005)
Hitch is a film where a professional “date doctor” who makes a living teaching men how to sweet talk women. It is starring Will Smith before his on stage slappin fiasco. Mendes plays Sara Melas, a gossip columnist and sarcastic workaholic. Mendes is just so sassy and cute that even I would try my best to get to know her and fail miserably. She has some funny scenes with getting kicked in the head, throwing lettuce and some epic dance moves.
Sand Saref- The Spirit (2008)
Straight-up, the Spirit is an AWFUL freakin movie that no one should watch. It’s really bad and makes zero sense sometimes. Mendes plays the beautiful, seductive and femme fatale Sand Saref. Sand is Spirit’s childhood sweetheart who loves all things gold. She is a criminal who marries wealthy men and then kills them to use their money for her own luxury lifestyle. Mendes looks beautiful but my lord is this film awful.
Dr. Sheila Ramos Gamble- The Other Guys (2010)
In a film where two of the most unlikely pair team up to be the new top cops in this hilarious film. After the death of two of the most badass cops in the department, Detective Allen “Gator” Gamble (Wahlberg) and Detective Terry Hoitz (Ferrell) try to fill the void in the department but to disastrous results. Mendes plays Sheila, the beautiful wife of Hoitz. Mendes is hilarious as she wants to be known and seen by her husband and he pays almost no attention to her. She is so out of his league that its hilarious to see her wanting him.
Alex Diaz Whitlock- Out of Time (2003)
In the mystery thriller starring Denzel Washington, the film is about a Florida police chief in a small town who must solve a double homicide case. The case soon turns out to be something he didn’t expect. While trying to solve the case, the chief must evade his ex-wife, who is a DEA agent before being busted. Mendes plays Alex Diaz Whitlock who is more than just a pretty face in this film. Mendes seems to get the pretty face roles and a little tight casted. She always gives her best even if the movie is a little meh. The film is fun to watch and has its moments.
Frankie Donnenfeld- Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans (2009)
In this Nick Cage film, Cage plays a corrupt police sergeant named Terence McDonagh who rescues a prisoner and earns a promotion to lieutenant in the process. Terence becomes addicted to drugs and painkillers and really goes off the deep end. Mendes plays Frankie, Terence’s girlfriend who is also a prostitute. This is one of those films that is more about Cage and his strange ways than anything else.
Amada Juarez- We Own the Night (2007)
In this crime thriller, starring both Mark Wahlberg and Joaquin Phoenix, things go crazy as a NYC nightclub manager tries to save his police officer brother and father from the Russian mob. Want to talk about a dysfunctional family, look no further than your family all police officers and you a straight up criminal. When your family asks for your help and you say no, the only option is to raid your club. Mendes plays Amada Juarez who is the girlfriend of Bobby and lives his lifestyle.
Ajedrez- Once Upon a Time in Mexico (2003)
In the sequel to Desperado, El Mariachi is recruited by CIA agent Sands to kill a corrupt general who is responsible for the death of his wife. Mendes is oh so beautiful and quite manipulative in this film. Working as an AFN agent, she backstabs Sands and almost kills him. If I saw Mendes, I would do anything for her.
