Tom Hardy is by far one my favorite actors. Hardy made his film debut in 2001 Ridley Scott’s Black Hawk Down. From there Hardy has been on the rise as a major star. He is versatile and seems to bring an intensity to all his roles. He has played the villainous Bane from the Dark Knight Rises, the crazy but harden “Mad” Max Rockatansky in Mad Max: Fury Road, the charming Eames from Christopher Nolan’s Inception or the anti-hero Eddie Brock/Venom from the superhero films. Hardy is one of the best at what he does and it’s a pleasure to watch him act.

Eames- Inception (2010)

Via: Warner Bros Pictures

Inception is one of the best Christopher Nolan films. The whole dream within a dream concept and how dreams work is crazy. The story with extracting or in this case, implanting an idea in one mind is crazy. Hardy plays Eames, a charming but sharp-tongued associate of Cobb. He is referred to as a fence, but his specialty is forgery, or identity theft. In the dream world, Eames uses his abilities to impersonate others.

Bane- The Dark Knight Rises (2012)

Via: Warner Bros Pictures

In the final film of the Nolan Batman series, Hardy was selected as Bane. Hardy put on 30 pounds of muscle for the role. Even though you couldn’t see Hardy’s mouth movie, he provided an essence to Bane. Hardy presents Bane as the opposite of the Joker by being more tactical and calmer. He isn’t as food as Heath Ledger’s Joker, but Hardy still does a fine good job. Hardy presents Bane as a physical imposing presence that tests Batman on a physical level but also a mental level. Hardy makes Bane more menacing as being a revolutionary.

John Fitzgerald- The Revenant (2015)

Via: 20th Century Fox

In the story of Hugh Glass, Leonardo DiCaprio won the Academy Award for Best Actor, but Hardy should’ve won for Best Supporting Actor. Hardy went HAM in this role and really showed how versatile he was as an actor. Hardy is one of my favorite actors and dude was straight up menacing as Fitzgerald. He had his priorities in order as dude wanted to get PAID and when the war party attacked, he didn’t want to leave them pelts. He didn’t care about anyone but himself. I love how Hardy played him with the scruff voice and burned up face. Hardy should’ve won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.

Tommy Riordan Conlon- Warrior (2011)

Via: Lionsgate

In a story where about two brothers who compete in an MMA tournament, Tom Hardy as Tom Conlon. Was impressive. I love me some Tom Hardy and think he is a phenomenal actor. Even though he didn’t say much in this film, you could see that homeboy went through some s**t in his life. He was unhinged in the ring and seemed so distance. Dude got JACKED for this role. Dude’s traps had muscles on top of muscles.

James Delaney- Taboo: TV series (2017)

Via: FX

If you want to see a show where Hardy is intense and has this dark aura about him, then look no further than FX’s Taboo. Hardy plays James Delaney, a man who returns to London after 12 years in Africa, for the funeral of his father. Hardy is great as he speaks little but also seems to speak with them spirits. He seems to know what is happening in this dramatic tv show where he has an extreme crush and love affair with his half-sister. Definitely watch this show.

Charles Bronson/Michael Peterson- Bronson (2008)

Via: Vertigo Films

In the film that is about Charles Bronson, Hardy is phenomenal as the man who seems to have a permeant stay in prison. Bronson is considered Britain’s most violent criminal, who has been responsible for a dozen or more cases hostage taking while incarcerated. He was given the name Charles Bronson by his fight promoter while doing bare-knuckle fighting. Like I said, Hardy is phenomenal and embodies the criminal from his body type to mental state. Someone you don’t want to meet on the streets.

Max Rockatansky- Mad Max: Fury Road (2015)

Via: Warner Bros. Pictures

In George Miller’s outstanding, stylish and awesome ride, Fury Road follows Max Rockatansky, who joins forces with Imperator Furiosa to flee from cult leader Immortan Joe and his army. Even though Hardy doesn’t speak much in the film, the dude is intense. Hardy showed Max as a man haunted by demons and a person that has a ruthless side to him. Hardy was a perfect choice as Max.

Eddie Brock- Venom (2018)

Via: Sony Pictures Releasing

In this Sony Pictures film that partners with MCU, Hardy plays Eddie Brock, one of the archvillains of the amazing Spiderman. Hardy is entertaining as Eddie as he is all over the place with his body language and mindset. Hardy also provided the voice of Venom, who is intense and terrifying. Even though the movie isn’t an all-time great film, it is one that is very enjoyable in this world of superhero films.

Ronald and Reginald Kray- Legend (2015)

Via: StudioCanal

In the biographical crime thriller film that deals with the Rise and Fall of the Kray Twins. The film explores their career and the relationship that bound them together along with following their gruesome career to life imprisonment. The movie is meh at best for a gangster film, but Hardy keeps this film afloat. Hardy plays dual roles as both characters. He was intense when he needed to be and calm and evil other times.
