One of the greatest villains to grace the screen has to be Anton Chigurh from No Country for Old Men. Javier Bardem did a masterful, brilliant and chilling performance with this character. I have seen some evil villains and Anton skyrocketed up to the top with his mannerisms, ideology and ruthlessness. When there are studies about a character and how much of a psychopath they are, you deserved to be in the villains list.
Chigurh is described as an unstoppable killing machine. He works as a hitman and when he has his target in sight, he will stop at nothing to make sure the person is dead. He is a “psychopathic killer” who looks to be in his 30s with a solemn and evil look about him. He carries around a special weapon, a captive bolt stunner, which he uses to kill his victims and also as a tool to shoot out door locks. He also carries a suppressed Remington 11-87 semiautomatic shotgun and pistol.
Chigurh is the epitome of psychopathy, havoc, chaos, death and antisocial tendencies. Homeboy has zero feelings or remorse. He is sadistic, cold-blooded, and unsympathetic and really enjoys killing people. Think of the Terminator and Chigurh is that in a human body. He is described as an unstoppable and cold-hearted evil and follows his own set of morals. Chigurh has a special way of deciding the fate of his victims. He flips a coin and asks them to pick. If they choose wrong, well, then bad things happened. When he asks the gas attendant to choose it is one of the most chilling scenes. Dude has the pain level of a god. He takes multiple gunshots along with a broken arm and keeps going.
Anton Chigurh is evil on top of evil. If there is anyone who wanted to research what a psychopath is, then look no further than this character. Anton is a ruthless killer that has no remorse of feelings towards anyone. Bardem brings this character to life with a chilling performance that won an Academy Award. If anyone asks you to flip a coin and they look evil, you might as well skip out.
