My ALL-TIME FAVORITE villain. The one and only Darth Vader!! Even though he was ranked #3 on AFI top villains, which is an absolute disgrace, Darth Vader is ICONIC in very way shape and form. Even David Prowse played the character, the LEGENDARY James Earl Jones provided the voice that made this character even more fearsome. Darth Vader is what made Star Wars great. When dude first walked through the smoke after that fire fight, you couldn’t help to see that he was fearsome.
Okay, so what makes Darth Vader the BEST villain ever and an absolute BOSS?!?! First is his name. Darth Freakin Vader! The character is known for his cruelty. Let’s just focus on the original series. Dude sent his daughter to be tortured. Even though Episode 4 he was meh, he came to true form in Episode 5: The Empire Strikes Back. Let me tell you how. What makes you a all-time great villain? You need a kick-ass theme music. Even though the Imperial March is related to the Empire, it has become synonymous with Darth Vader. Also, he became more ruthless in episode 5. Taking matters in his own hands, he sets out and captures everyone. The first fight between Luke and himself is iconic, even cutting off Luke’s hand.
What makes Vader so fearsome is his power. Dude will cut down anyone and don’t get him started on his force choke. In episode 5, he was force choking everyone. During the film Rogue One, that is when you saw how cruel Vader could be. One of the most insane scenes. Also, Vader’s appearance is what makes him stand out. He is dressed in all black like a grim reaper and towers over everyone. Let’s not forget about that iconic breathing.
Darth Vader is one of the greatest villains of all time. No matter how many years go by, Vader will still be at the top because he is that fearsome and iconic. When you have a theme song and iconic quotes, you will stand the time in movie history. He is just Impressive. Most impressive.
