What the world doesn’t need is more creepy ass dolls. Chucky was enough to last for several decades but wait, the world needed to catch up and change the game for dolls. The age of a serial killer’s soul locked in a doll was meh. With the advancement of technology and AI, why not have a female artificially intelligent doll that has an impeccable fashion style and some sick ass dance moves, who develops self-awareness and becomes a possessive killer that will take out anyone who harms her human companion. There is another villain in the game and her name is M3GAN!
M3GAN appears as a sweet little girl but she is actually the terminator. Maybe we should call her baby terminator. She has blonde hair and some cold, lifeless robotic eyes with grey irises. I will say that whoever made the decision to dress M3GAN had an eye for fashion. She usually wears a long-sleeved green shirt with a striped pattern on its sleeves, and a brown coat with a blue tie. Those sunglasses are to die for. Homegirl has style.
M3GAN’s personality is cool at first but as time goes on, her personality and programming changes. M3GAN is first programmed as a caring, sweet, highly intelligent, and mama bear to Cady. She is the perfect companion. As M3GAN starts to learn and become self-aware, things change. She becomes manipulative and obsessive over Cady. When her programing changes, she becomes a little shit. She is disrespectful, bratty and a killer.
M3GAN rolls up in the world after the death of Cady’s parents. She was created by her aunt, Gemma, who is a robotics genius and works for a toy company. Gemma is overwhelmed with taking care of Cady, so she has the bright idea to create M3GAN, a self-learning operating system that becomes a doll. M3GAN spends hours upon hours with Cady, learning everything and helping her cope with the death of her parents. When M3GAN becomes self-aware and people that hurt Cady, shit gets real. She becomes malicious and doesn’t have a problem hurting everyone. She kills the neighbor’s doll and then the neighbor. Brandon, who bullied Cady at Daycare Center, was fucked up. She ripped off his ear and chased him until he was hit by a car. I will say that one scene where she does the dance was creepy, but girl had moves.
There is a new queen in the horror game and her name is M3GAN. M3GAN might not have the number of movies that Chucky has but homegirl came in as a force to be reckoned with. A killer doll that is made from advanced AI technology, has a strong fashion sense and killer dance moves, what more could you ask for? Hopefully, there are more M3GAN films but if not, she came in, stole the show and you better be nice to sweet Cady.
