We are back again for some great movie quotes. This time around, I wanted to do something new. I wanted to present some quotes from a different genre. I decided to go the route of sci-fi because that genre is awesome and fun to watch. This is only the beginning because I know without a doubt I could do about over one hundred different quotes from this genre alone. Strap in because
“Get your stinking paws off me, you damned dirty ape!” – George Taylor, Planet of the Apes, (1968)
You know what is crazy? When you’re an astronaut and your crew crash land on a strange planet. On this planet, apes rule and humans are primitive. Pretty much the roles are reversed. You get shot in the neck and cant speak for a while but when you recover, you drop this line and the apes lose their shit. Heston was perfect in this moment as the line was intense and was the game changer in the whole film.
“E.T. phone home.” – E.T., E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982)
If you know me, Steven Spielberg is my all-time favorite director. He is a genius filmmaker that makes any imagination possible. One of his most iconic films is E.T., the little alien who gets stranded on Earth. When E.T. is “talking” to the kids, he says he wants to phone home so he can catch a ride. When the finger glows, you know he wants to bounce. A great film with the kindest little alien.
“May thy knife chip and shatter.” – Paul Atreides and Feyd-Rautha, Dune: Part Two (2024)
Out of all the quotes in the epic movie of Dune, I think one hits the hardest because it is simple before an epic fight. Paul says it with subtle force and respect towards Feyd-Rautha. Feyd, on the other hand, says it like it is a whatever statement and meaningless. You know blades are about to touch and blood will be drawn.
