Syndrome started off as a geeky kid, but when he grew up this little man is still little but has a fearsome look. He stands at 5’7” but when you count his hair, it might stand at 6 feet. Dude has flaming red hair and has that Vegeta hairstyle with a Heat Miser added to it. He is also around 25 years old with a barrel chest and sky-blue eyes. Before he became Syndrome, he wanted to be “IndrediBoy” where he had a homemade suit that had navy blue that was cut off and a white shirt. It was a suit that showed homeboy really tried. When he becomes Syndrome, dude outfit hit another level. His outfit is all black but with a large white “S”. He also wears a small black mask with mechanical gauntlets and boots. Even though Edna would hate it, he sports a cape that hangs freely from his neck.

Syndrome’s personality changed and is rooted in his hatred for Mr. Incredible. In his younger years as Buddy Pine, he was Mr. Incredible’s #1 fan. He was a sweet boy but overly naïve because he didn’t have power and wanted to help. When Mr. Incredible rejected him, a switch in dude’s mind flipped and the feeling of betrayal showered over him. As Syndrome, dude is a psychopath who only wants recognition but is power-hungry. He has no value of human life as he let his robot destroy the city along with only caring for himself. This also shows that Syndrome is a genius in science, technology and everything else that comes with building things. Syndrome is very cynical and believes that if he is a threat, he will get respect. He also is very sadistic and has a deep cruelty in his soul. Buddy went full on villain mode.

Syndrome might not have any powers in the world of Supers, but dude does have skills and abilities that make him a worthy villain. First, he has a genius level intelligence which allowed him to think of designing and creating the Omnidriod. This allowed him to also be a technological genius where he created a wide variety of weapons and vehicles. Dude created flying boots at a young age. Forget being a Super, become a billionaire. Oh, wait, he did. This is another skill he obtained. With all his design in weaponry, he amassed a fortune of around $200 billion. BIG MONEY! He kept the best stuff for himself as he made his utility gauntlets that have him use zero-point energy that can also help him create a field of quantum energy. His gauntlets also allow him to fire off field blasts along with controlling his deadly robot.

Syndrome is one of those villains that doesn’t have any powers but shows that the will and determination of a person can make them a villain. Dude had an origin story and followed through with becoming someone who wanted to show the world that he had the power and ability to become a Super. Syndrome is a vain and psychotic person but had the will and determination to amass a fortune unlike anyone has seen. Watch out for the little kid you shun away, they could become your greatest enemy.
