Tubi is the gift that keeps on giving when it comes to providing me with B-level movies that have suspect storylines, questionable acting, and lots of nudity. Gotta love Tubi. This time around, I have a movie that is so bad and questionable that you are literally watching for the nudity because the story and acting bring it down so far. Was I lost after a while from the story part? Yes, I was. Was there enough nudity to make me forget what the hell was happening? Yep, and I have no problem with watching it. This was a softcore porn because porn movies are a lot better than this film.

Let’s get this review underway. Welcome to the world of murder, strippers, and mystery. After Midnight starts off with Duffy, played by Jeneta St. Clair, who is the top stripper or bitch in the club. She makes all the money and gets into heated arguments with Tina, played by Erika Jordan, who is a bitch in her own right but equally hot as hell. Tina is FOINE! After a night of dancing, Duffy gets in her car and is shot to death. Who would want to kill a stripper? That is just wrong.

Constance, played by Catherine Annette, is a newscaster at a local TV station. Her world is shaken when she is reading a report and finds out on live TV that her sister, Duffy, was the one who was killed. Wanting to find answers, Constance goes undercover as a stripper, or, as they like to be called, an exotic dancer. Constance has zero skills in investigative journalism and a variety of other issues on her mind. As Constance starts her quest to find her sister’s murderer, she starts losing her mind and her clothes until the killer shows up and reveals themselves.

I’m not sure where to begin with this film. Give me a second. I know I can think of something to write. Give me a second. I promise it is coming to me. Okay, I think I have it. You will either be on one side or the other of this film. You will be a horny male like me and be interested in the women and not the story. Or you can be interested in the story and wonder what’s going on. The story starts off with Duffy’s murder and Constance going to the strip club owned by Rikki. Rikki gives Constance the job of stripping. Constance has no business going undercover as a stripper, and it doesn’t seem like she really needs to, but she does. She wears a wig that is obviously fake and calls herself Ann. One of the customers spots her and takes a picture of her. What happens to the customer? He gets strangled. Besides the police doing an investigation, the film states that no one cares about dead strippers and their customers. So, there you have it: the reason for no cops. Constance gets into it with Tina a few times and then goes up on stage. Constance seems like she is a different person. The shy TV reporter is gone, and a wild, breast-baring woman is released from her slumber. Constance’s boyfriend seems to be controlling and threatening people, and her therapist seems to know what is going on, but never states what.

Let me add this in. Throughout the film, the film makes sure to give each female actress their time to shine with a stripping routine. They leave nothing to the imagination. They show their breasts, spread their legs where you can see everything, and do a dance. Each dance is approximately two to three minutes in length. If I had to rank the performances, Tina is by far my favorite one. It’s something about her bitchy face and demeanor that makes her the best. Second would be Constance, because she starts off slowly and then goes full-blown. Zoey was sensual, and I liked her dance and the way she performed on stage. Misty was okay, but you could tell she had other things on her mind. They all have amazing bodies.

Sorry, back to the review. As stated earlier, as the mean girls or strippers gradually start dying off along with some pervy dudes, you wonder why everyone is dying. Then a bombshell is dropped on us. Constance’s doctor reveals that he is treating her with dissociative identity disorder. Say whattttttttttttttt?!?! Constance begins to adopt the persona of her deceased sister. Once again, say whattttttttttttttt?!?! Oh, and Constance really loses her mind. She visits her other sister, who had a car accident and is now mute. This girl rolls up and points a girl at her head until she realizes it is wrong. Constance was the one who rolled up and kills everyone. Didn’t see that one coming. Constance did see the ghostly form of her sister, and each time she looked more like a demon. My question is, was Constance possessed? It never makes any sense.

The acting is bad in this film. It’s one of those so-bad-it’s-good. Somehow and some way, it’s a little entertaining because they try so hard, and it’s somewhat comical as the films try to be a little serious. Also, how the hell are Richard Grieco and Tawny Kitaen the stars of the film? They were barely in the movie, and they get top billing. Catherine Annette was the lead in this film and should’ve had top billing. Christine Nguyen is also in this film. I just watched her in Guns, Girls and Blood. Erika Jordan as Tina was one of the film’s highlights. You need a sassy, bitchy woman to tell people off, and she was perfect in this role. I enjoyed her performance the most. I enjoyed Catherine Annette as Constance. Half the time, I didn’t know what the hell she was doing. I like the switch-up from shy person to stripping queen.

After Midnight is a film that you should watch after midnight. The story is all over the place, and it will ultimately make no sense. If it wasn’t for the beautiful naked women prancing around, I would’ve stopped at the first death. There are enough close-ups to keep both male and female viewers satisfied. If the film hadn’t featured strippers being killed off and had the plot centered around a dead lawyer, it would have been a decent film. The acting is terrible, but some people must start somewhere. Have fun watching this film after midnight.
