“Listen to them, the children of the night. What music they make!” – Count Dracula, Dracula (1931)

Via: Universal Pictures

This has to be one of the most famous and ICONIC quotes in movie history. Coming from the legendary 1931 Dracula film, this quote was delivered by Dracula as he is speaking with Renfield. Bela Lugosi’s performance as Dracula was amazing as he was creepy but yet charming. In the scene, Renfield is speaking with Dracula. Suddenly, there is a howling of wolves that makes Dracula pause and take in the sound. He turns to Renfield, smiles and drops this famous line. It was perfect and shows that Dracula is a creature of the night. The quote was ranked the 83rd greatest movie quote in American cinema by AFI (American Film Institute).

“It’s alive! It’s alive!” – Henry Frankenstein, Frankenstein (1931)

Via: Universal Pictures

You know you have a great quote when it crosses genres and hits other aspects of culture. The It’s alive quote has done that. Hell, the quote even ended up in a Jay-Z song. The quote was ranked the 49th greatest movie quote in American cinema by AFI (American Film Institute). In the classic black and white film, the world was introduced to Frankenstein. In the film, Dr. Frankenstein struggles to make his creature until a lightning storm hits. When the monster moves its hand, Dr. Frankenstein is ecstatic and delivers this amazing line.

“One of us! One of us!” – Freaks (1932)

Via: Loew’s Inc.

For years I have heard the “one of us chants.” My friends throw it at me when I slowly come over to their side. I never knew where it came from until I watched the 1932 version of Freaks. There are a lot of movie quotes out in the world and this one has to be the most repeated in film history. I finally realize that it has been used countless times. The scene is crazy with not the chant but the reaction that Cleopatra gave to her marriage to dwarf Hans. The troupe welcome her with open arms and she is enraged and disgusted revealing her pathetic true colors.
