When you think of someone with Killer Looks, who do you think of? Who comes to mind, and you are like, “DAMN! They are FOINE!” When I think of someone with Killer Looks, I think of Eva Green, Emily Ratajkowski, Helen Mirren, Angela White, and Britney Ambers. People with looks and beauty that are out of this world. Hell, might as well throw in Aphrodite in that group.

Tubi is the gift that keeps on giving. You can find great movies on Tubi that are straight-up classics and Academy Award winners. You can find movies that are in the middle of the pack. They are not great, but they are not that bad. Then you come across some movies that are like, “WTF did I just watch.” Tubi has it all, and I’m starting to spend more and more time on this excellent platform. For the past few weeks, I have been going down a rabbit hole of movies that are bad, awful, and WTF. Now, I have watched some movies that pretty much know they are bad, but they are like, “F-it, we are going to have fun with this film.” This leads me to today’s review of Killer Looks.

Killer Looks is a film directed and written by Christopher Krueger, and boy, is it a wild ride. One evening, a fashion photographer is creeping on some clientele while doing a photo shoot for the rich Susan King (Black). After he gets rejected a few times, he leaves the studio only to be gunned down. Rather than the police handling it, a lazy, drunk, and incompetent private eye by the name of Gunn (Green) is hired to find out who did the shooting. Since he has no idea and is bothered by a kung fu enthusiast, intelligent and beautiful Alex (Flannery) decides to offer some assistance in solving the case. They decide to jump right into the world of modeling and everything else involved in the world until they find the killer.

With a movie like this, it was surprisingly entertaining, even though the story lacked in many areas. The film has decent writing for a low-budget movie. It’s not world-shaking, but I was at least entertained with what was going on. It was probably the stupidity between Gunn and Alex. As they investigate, you will roll your eyes at many scenes. When they go investigate Susan King, she strips down to her underwear and then says a few things, and they leave. They return to see her, and she is killed while doing an art gallery with her father, but people just watch and not scream. Oh, it was so bad. Alex goes undercover as a hooker and catches a guy. Another guy is masturbating in a tree, only to be caught by Alex. Alex fights against Vicky. That fight is stupid because Vicky’s boobs fall out, and Alex can’t handle it for a while. The film is all over the place, and the reveal of the killer will make you go, huh.

I will say that Katherine Flannery as Alex Bishop was the best thing in the entire film. She straight-up carried this film. She seemed to have an absolute blast making this film and didn’t take it seriously. Well, she took the movie seriously, but she seemed to have fun while making it and throwing out all the awful puns. The film is far more bearable when she performs all sorts of kicks and karate chops. It’s funny, and I hope she sticks with this career because she is good at it. The chemistry she has with Vaughn Green is also worth noting. With Green playing the creepy private eye, Alex has her work cut out for him. Green does a good job playing the role. He looked like he hadn’t washed for days, but it seemed like he was having a good time being the creepy old man who loves booze.

Killer Looks is one of those films that I took one for the team. The story is funny, and you get what you expect with a B or C-type movie. It’s not oversexualized with nudity, unlike most movies on Tubi. It is one of those films that has potential, and if a major studio remade it, it would likely be on a similar level.
