Here we go again with some bad animated movies. This is another genre that loves to keep giving us some bad movies. Everyone thinks that when you make an animated film, that it will be a banger and kids will flock to them. Here are some films that were complete duds and should’ve been left on a black page before even being conceived to be drawn.
The Jungle Book 2 (2003)
The original Walt Disney 1967 animated Jungle Book is one of my favorite movies. Who doesn’t love singing “The Bare Necessities” and “I Wanna Be Like You” at the top of your lungs. The original film is a classic film. When you have a classic film, why the hell would you do a sequel almost 40 years after the original. The Jungle Book 2 is that film that didn’t need a sequel. Even though the film was a box office success, it was dogshit. It was a straight up copy and paste of the original using the same songs. Why even make a second film. I don’t want to be like you after watching this film.
Happily N’Ever After (2006)
Ummmm? Yeah. This film right here. Oh, do I not want to talk about this film. I have seen a lot of animated films. Good or bad, you might be able to find a single thing you like about it. I was not living happily ever after as I finished this film. Lawd help me for watching this film. It felt like it was trying to be like some other film like Shrek or a great film and failed miserably. The visuals are terrible; the music is blah and the story. Oh, the story. Whoever wrote this needs to stop writing because it was unwatchable. Now I have to go find happiness from somewhere else.
Delgo (2008)
Delgo is one of those animated films that has high ambitions with its story along with a cast of A-listers that fail miserably. A film about warring factions and how one rises after their family is killed, the film is a major misfire on all levels. You would think it would be good because it hits all the areas that are in fantasy films, but it doesn’t get off ground. The animation is horrible to look at and the characters are rather boring to watch.
Planes (2013)
You would think that with Disney’s track record, they will always have a banger animated film. After buying Pixar, what could go wrong? Planes is a film where Disney falls from the sky without any advice from Pixar. This is one of the low points of the mighty Disney. Planes tries to be a spin-off of cars and decided that planes would be a great choice. The story is simple and has the underdog story but it fails miserably. The only good thing about this dismal film is the animation but if you walk around Disney or look on Disney+, Planes is a lost film.
Norm of the North (2016)
This movie was a complete money grab. This movie should be so far down on the animated list that when you finish your list, you should just skip over it and restart. Watching paint dry would be far better than watching this movie. Taking crayons and drawing on a white wall would be more entertaining. The voice cast is pretty good but this is a wannabe Ice Age, Madagascar and Happy Feet type of film. The jokes were stale or frozen like the Artic and the story is very forgettable. Somehow this movie spanned sequels.
