Tubi is one of the greatest streaming platforms for movies that were made, and you have NO IDEA where they came from. Honestly, Tubi is the gift that keeps on giving, giving me B-level movies with suspect storylines, questionable acting, and lots of nudity. Gotta love Tubi. This time around, I have a movie that is middle-of-the-pack in terms of trashiness, but will also make you think a little. It’s still majorly trashy, but the male in me couldn’t help but watch it.

Oh, do I have a treasure for you! I love scouring the depths of Tubi for trashy movies. This is why you love my reviews every other Friday: I present some trashy movies. This time around, I have a film with a decent storyline and message, but bad acting and, once again, lots of nudity. This treasure that I found is a little girl’s gone wild film called Pretty Obsession.

Welcome to the world of camming and murder. Pretty Obsession starts off with Rebecca, played by Brittany Nicole Kovler. Rebecca is a FOINE eight-year-old who goes to high school by day, works in her mom’s retail store after school, but at night, does nudity camming under the name PrettyGirl90069. Rebecca wants to go to college, but the money is too good to pass up. During a shopping spree with her best friend, Lauren, played by Lydia Pritchett, Rebecca shows her what she is doing and how she makes all her bags. Lauren is reluctant to join at first, but when she starts making money, she spirals into the web of camming. The pair is living the high life until Rebecca has a new “friend” join her stream, which turns from playful entertainment to straight-up stalking.

Michael Baumgarten, the director and writer of this film, actually told a compelling story that should make women heed the warning of camming. I have NOTHING against women who do camming, such as OnlyFans, Chaturbate, or any of those sites. Make that money, and if you have pride in your body and looks, show it. We all watched some form of pornography. I have my favorites. For me, I am not going to shame or look down on anyone who does this type of work. As my mom says, “You do you, boo-boo.”

The reason the story is compelling and decent is because it shows the horrors that can happen with camming. Rebecca has her guard and boundaries up. She doesn’t date anyone from the website, no matter how much money they offer. She keeps her address secret and doesn’t mess around with it. She shows her tits, makes sexual content, but overall keeps her life private. Lauren goes in the opposite direction. Lauren gets highly addicted to the rush of money and starts becoming a prostitute. She goes on a date with a man who gives her a ton of money for having sex. Then she goes with another man, whom she calls Big Daddy, and she gives him a BJ. Big Daddy breaks up with her, sending her into a spiral. Lauren keeps meeting men she doesn’t know, and even gets combative when Rebecca tells her this isn’t a good idea.

Baumgarten shows what happens from those super horny men who take it too far and develop an obsession. A stalker with the online name DenverStud300, played by Dylan Hobbs, meets women on the site and obsesses over them. He showers them with tokens and slowly earns their trust. He will meet up with the girl until he decides to kill them. After his latest victim, he becomes obsessed with Rebecca. He showers her with praise but also becomes extremely aggressive and possessive over her. When Lauren bans him for 72 hours, this dude drives from Colorado to Los Angeles to be close to Rebecca. Lauren’s dumb ass contacts him as he uses a different name and decides to go on a date with homeboy, only to be killed. Lauren and her dumbass!!

Besides that, the dialogue in this film was laughable. Whoever wrote it should have done way better than this. Rebecca learns that Lauren has died, and what does her mom say? “Let me make you your favorite breakfast.” Really bitch, breakfast?!?! That is what comes to your mind. The dialogue is so bad that it made the movie hard to watch. Some of the stuff that came out of the actors’ mouths and the tone they used was laughable, and you couldn’t take them seriously.

There were scenes in this film that made it really hard to watch. First, there was the camming scene, which was fine, but the whole thing with men watching around the world was strange. Men were watching the girls doing stuff at work, on a date, or in other odd places like the bathroom. Then the scene with Lauren and the dude she called Big Daddy. Who goes to the park and hangs out with a girl who is 18 but also plays a didgeridoo? What the fuck is that? Then the scene with DenverStud300 and the first woman he was with. The woman was fine with her striptease dance. I thought it was decent, but to kill a woman with a dildo in her mouth was stupid. Really?!?!

As far as the performances go, they were okay/meh. For a B-movie, they did their job. First, Brittany Nicole Kovler is one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen. GAWD DAMN!!!! She is FOINE!! I couldn’t care less about this film, but she was gorgeous to look at. As Rebecca, she was the one with her head on right. Many women or 18-year-olds jump into camming. The whole thing with her being a high schooler was a little strange, but she had boundaries and kept them up.

Lydia Prichett as Lauren was pretty good. Once again, her lines were absolute trash, but her character was interesting. She played Lauren as reluctant to get into camming, but when she did, she went fully in and spiraled downward. Lydia showed Lauren’s stupidity with going on dates with men, and rather than showing her body online, doing sexual acts, and maybe becoming a little bit of a prostitute. I must give it to her as she went all out for this role.

Pretty Obsession is one of those B-movies that you could probably only find on Tubi. The story of this film is compelling, with teenagers engaging in camming but not really understanding the dangers. The dialogue and acting in this film were poor. Brittany Nicole Kovler and Lydia Prichett were the best parts of the movie as they portrayed their characters well. Once again, Brittany Nicole Kovler is FOINE! Overall, Pretty Obsession has little to obsess over.
